Road to OSCP Part 4: ScreenConnect warning (and fix) for Linux Host users (Ubuntu 18.04)

If you are using the “ideal build” for a exam machine, you’re fine

The ideal build is

  1. Windows 10 Host
  2. VMWare Hypervisor
  3. Provided Offensive Security Image (only useful for the Linux buffer overflow exercise, sample lab and exam reports)
  4. Java Runtime Environment

Stick with this, and you won’t have any issues.

If you are using Ubuntu as a host with , for public documentation and Linux support’s sake

You only need to know these magical words

apt-get update && apt-get install -y icedtea-plugin

Then you restart Firefox and retry the ScreenConnect link.
